What we do
Scott’s Steelworkz offers waterjet cutting, unique art, sheet metal fabrication, welding and engineering maintenance services in the Franklin Region. We are located in Waiuku, South Auckland.
Our equipment includes a Waterjet Cutter, Press Brake Folder, Punch Shear, Double Pulse Ali MIG Welder, TIG Welders, Hand Roller, forming machines and a powered Pipe Roller.
How we started
Scott’s Steelworkz Ltd started as a contracting company working for local businesses and maintenance shuts at the local Steel Mill. Scott came across Waterjet Cutting Machines and became intrigued by them. Believing in the technology's potential for its versatility and application, he made it his goal to own one.
Scott and Joanne travelled to China to see the machines in action. They had the chance to see the demonstration of two machines for themselves and were impressed. Eventually, they imported a Vichor Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine and set it up at their first workshop on Kitchener Road in Waiuku. Since then, SSW has developed a great relationship with Vichor Waterjet Machinery Co. Ltd.
Scott and Joanne's philosophy of "no time for regrets" encouraged them to pursue this opportunity. They worked hard over five years to grow their business, and today they employ two qualified tradesmen to help Scott manage the workshop. The support of the local community and customers, who often recommend SSW to their friends, has been invaluable to their success.
Meet the Team

Director
Scott served his time in the Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Fabrication Industry. He has over 40 years of experience and specialises in Welding Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
Scott has operated CNC Turret Punches, Plasma and Laser machine and does the drawing and computer programming to run these machines. He has worked in the Dairy, Marine and Agricultural sectors specialising in custom one-off fabrications.
Scott’s interests include: Dirt Track Racing, Jetboating and Hot Rodding.

Director & Creative Team
Joanne studied Technical Drawing and Art at High School and went on to work in Banking before choosing to be a stay-at-home Mum to their 2 boys until they were both at school. This gave her time to Volunteer at Parents Centre, Playcentre and as a Secretary and Chair of the Board of Trustees at Pukeoware School. Joanne has worked for an Accountant as Clerk and Office Manager for 20 years. These skills complement Scott’s technical skills well.
Joanne’s interests include: Cake Decorating (icing flowers), Hot Rodding and Steampunk!

Joined our team as Leading Hand in 2021. He is a Qualified Fitter Turner working 16 years in that industry. He has developed and strengthened his welding skills and now specialises in Aluminium and Stainless Steel Welding. Allan is our backup operator of the Waterjet machine and Primary Press Brake Folder Operator.
